Assistive Technology Trainings

We serve a wide range of students.  Here are some examples of Assistive Technology Training we can provide.

AIM/AEM (Accessible Instructional/Educational Materials):  Time Limit: 1-2 1/2 hours

Specific Software Trainings: We offer a variety of trainings on specialized software that suppots students.  Some of the software trainings that we provide are: Clicker, Bookshare, Inspiration, Read and Write, Snap and Read, Draft builder, Co-Writer, and Learning Ally. These and others can be tailored to your team’s specific needs. Time Limit: 1 to 1 1/2 hours

UDL (Universal Design for Learning):  This training will introduce you to what Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is.  It will teach you how to use the technology available within your schools and programs in order to provide technology accommodations within the general education setting to address literacy across all subject areas.  We will discuss ways to make general education curriculum accessible to all students with varying learning needs. Time limit: 1 hour

Accessibilities and Embedded Tools in the Devices We Use: Do you know what accessibility features are already embedded in the devices you have? Would you like to know how to use them with students to support daily accommodations? How about the accessibility features built into the Smarter Balanced Assessment?  This training will provide participants with the knowledge of what accessibility features are built into PC’s, Mac’s, Chromebooks, and iPads as well as how to use these accessibility features for daily and state testing.  Time limit: 2 hours

Google and Chrome:

Ipad app training:  We offer a variety of trainings to teams on the apps that students are using.  No matter what app it is, we will train the team and help develop a plan to implement the app within the classroom environment. Time limit: 1 hour
