The Coaching Process

 Research on Transfer of Training a coaching and mentoring program

The research on teacher transfer from training into practice:

  • 5% of learners will transfer a new skill into their practice as a result of learning a theory
  • 10% will transfer a new skill into their practice as a result of learning a theory and seeing it demonstrated
  • 20%  will transfer a new skill into their practice as a result of learning a theory, seeing it demonstrated, and receive  practice during the training
  • 25% will transfer a new skill into their practice as a result of learning a theory, seeing it demonstrated, practice during the training and receive corrective feedback during the training.
  • 90% will transfer a new skill into their practice as a result of learning a theory, seeing it demonstrated, practice during the training, and receive corrective feedback during the training when it is followed up with job-embedded coaching.
